Under the Surface invites artists to look beyond appearances and explore the emotions, memories, identities, and hidden truths that shape our inner worlds.

This exhibition is about what cannot always be seen, but can be deeply felt.

We welcome artworks that:

explore vulnerability, memory, identity, or transformation
reveal emotional or psychological depth
invite viewers to look beyond the visible

All visual styles and media are welcome.

What matters is not what is visible.
What matters is what lies beneath.

Clover Gallery presents curated online group exhibitions hosted on our website, accompanied by social media promotion and a digital exhibition catalogue.

Who can apply?

We welcome emerging and established artists working in:

  • Painting

  • Drawing / Printmaking

  • Sculpture

  • Mixed Media

  • Collage

  • Photography

  • Digital Art

  • Textile Art

Submission guidelines

  • Up to 3 artworks in JPG format (max 2MB each, 2500px longest side)

  • Images should show only the artwork itself (no frames, watermarks, or interiors).

  • Interior photos are accepted only for sculpture.

Why participate?

Selected artists will receive:

  • Inclusion in a curated online group exhibition

  • 1–2 works displayed online with description and direct links to your portfolio or social media

  • Ongoing visibility in our exhibition archive

  • Promotion on Instagram and in our newsletter

  • A place in our free digital exhibition catalogue (PDF)

  • A digital certificate of participation

Important details

  • Submission fee: None
  • Selection fee (if accepted): €30
    (supports gallery operations & promotion)
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18+ years old to participate
  • Sales: No commission — collectors contact artists directly
  • Note: Selections are made on a rolling basis until all available spots are filled. The open call may close earlier or be extended, and only selected artists will be contacted by email

  • Upload up to 3 artworks following the image guidelines
  • Provide the essential details for each artwork: title, year of creation, technique/medium, dimensions
  • Our team will review your submission and respond within 4 days
  • If accepted, you’ll receive confirmation and payment details
